Schools are using various methods depending on teacher preference. All school use students portfolios which are shared with parents twice per year. All teachers have access to ePearl and may use it with their students. Other schools are using PowerPoint or other software to develop student portfolios.
This year one of our divisions goal is that every student grade 2-8 will have at least an electronic collection of work.

This year all of our teachers have access to ePearl, but it is optional whether they want to utilize this software.

A paper portfolio is useful, but an electronic collection is essential in order to present all the details that may be contained in their electronic projects. In some cases such as video an electronic medium is the only way to collect and share.

Several LwICT lead teachers are using it. All teachers have been invited to try it. After school sessions to support it were developed and delivered. It is used primarily as an ELA tool and some are using it for other subjects. Plans with parents include inviting them to the computer lab to have students share their e-work with them.

Choose small samples of student work and proceed slowly...baby steps. Include students in process.

We are beginning to use ePearl. We use student/teacher conversations on an on-going basis, as well as observations of students' work with ICT.

Our school has just begun to use ePearl. Students in grade 6 have prior experience, having used it in grade 5. We are beginning to use the goal setting features of ePearl and to have students upload their work.
5.3 What tips does your team have for effective collection and management of evidence of student literacy with ICT?
Discussion with classroom teachers has a positive effect in determining what really constitutes student literacy with ICT. Having students create folders in their personal drives on our network also helps to keep their work organized and easy to find.
